Doing what we can do
"In this together"
These last few months have left us with a feeling of interconnectedness. Even more than before.
If there is any silver lining to this COVID story, it is the realization that we are all in this together - whether this is climate change, civil rights, economic security, or public health.
The story behind our animation
Our short film is inspired by our own quarantine experience and the challenge of balancing remote teamwork with childcare. It is a celebration of our friends in healthcare and other roles on the front line who have their own families to care for and yet are working overtime as the world has slowed down.
The featured nurse is the image of Angela, a Lao-American nurse and friend of ARTICLE22.
From New York City to Scottsdale, Wuhan to Milan, Mexico City to São Paulo, Paris to Vientiane, Shanghi to Tokyo, in this together is about recognizing our interconnectedness as members of the same planet and as humans with the same fragilities.
We are part of a social, cultural, environmental, and economic ecosystem that is interdependent. We celebrate the professionals on the front lines of this global pandemic, from health care workers, to mail carriers, to bank loan officers, to civil servants. THANK YOU.
"We hope that more people will keep in mind how small the world really is and how we need to protect our collective bodies, minds, and spirits."
