I then entered my first “clear-cut” where they log almost every tree and then light the area on fire with diesel fuel or napalm after the logs are removed… I made a commitment that I was going to help the ancient forests even though I did not know how… That commitment ended up leading me on a 738 day journey living 180 feet up in an over 1,000 year old elder redwood tree, known as Luna. My middle name is Butterfly, and it feels to me that I have gone through the transformation process over and over in my life. No matter who you are or where you are, there’s a way for you to contribute and make a difference. And it’s just outside the comfort zone. It’s outside where we normally hang out and do our thing. It doesn’t have to be that far outside. But that’s where growth and transformation happen. And that’s where the magic happens. If we want magic in our lives we have to be willing to go into the unknown. So head to that uncomfortable, unknown place and trust that not only will growth and transformation happen, but magic will happen.
